Tuesday Tunes: Dance Your Heart Out

I can't get enough of this track. When I'm getting ready, in the car, hanging out in my room, this is what I listen to. After a few plays, you'll be singing along to it and tapping your feet as your day goes. Have a great day and remember to live your life to the fullest!

What are the songs you have stuck in your head?

Deux

How fast time flies. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that we're in the fourth week of April already. Can you guys believe it?

For the second week of college, I've dressed fairly casual because I am never a morning person. So having to wake up at 6am three times a week is definitely taking a toll on me. Not to mention the amount of reading material we have. It has been a great week though. Anyway, let's get on with it!

Monday

Thrifted Lou Reed T-shirt, Forever 21 Pants, P & Co. Cardigan and Bazaar Bought Spiked Shoes

Came across this Lou Reed t-shirt at a nearby charity shop and I couldn't pass it up. It was soft and had a tag on it, which means that it hasn't been worn. Bought it with a maxi skirt for only RM8. A steal, for sure. Paired it up with my cardigan for that extra warmth when in class.

Tuesday

Birthday Gift Necklace, Cotton On Tank Top & Printed Shorts, Thrifted Denim Jacket,
Keds, Rookie Yearbook One

It was bloody hot on Tuesday. I swear I could fry an egg on the pavement but hey, I don't cook. Wore the tank top and shorts on the way to class and popped on the jacket when it got cold. I think the necklace gave it a beachy vibe in a way, I really like it because it has a shell like quality to it. And my copy of Rookie is finally here! Filled with positive psychedelic vibes all week thanks to its arrival.

Wednesday

Bazaar Bought Crop Top, H&M High Waisted Skirt, Bershka Tote, Keds

I'm not promoting the drink in anyway whatsoever, it was just another warm day and I felt like multitasking. Abusing my all time favorite skirt from H&M and Keds till the day it gives up on me. Surprisingly, this particular skirt has lasted for a few years now. The elasticity around the waist is going strong and I hope it stays that way.

Thursday

Rolling Stones Sweater from Japan, Kitschen Jeans

Wore this outfit with my Keds. This was a cheat outfit as I was too lazy to come up with something else. It happens. Tip: Tuck it in and cuff. That's the trick to not look like a slob.

Friday

Pestle & Mortar Top, Kitschen Shorts, Cotton On Bag, Keds

I don't own a lot of flats and I'm very particular when it comes to shoes, so bear with me you guys. Had an extra class on Friday, so off to school I went. This PMC top is one of my absolute favorites because of the cut and simplicity of it. I got it after FMFA and I do not regret splurging on it one bit. Behind it is  the complete list of acts that were present in a shape of a wau. Props to PMC for incorporating traditional aspects to something so current.

That's all guys. A friendly reminder to cap off this post:

Past Curfew

Looks that would influence you to sneak out at night with that one person you can spend hours talking with about everything and anything.

Freshman

Officially a freshman. Wow.

As I am absolutely sure that I will be furthering my studies in the States (yearning for the big ol' American dream), I've decided to sign up for the American Degree Transfer Programme. My first month would consist of 2 subjects, that is English and Psychology. A good start to something so foreign.

Day 1: Orientation

Pestle & Mortar Tee, Forever 21 Jeans, Bazarro Watch, Ked's Shoes

Decided on something basic for orientation because comfort is key for me when in unfamiliar territory. I felt like myself in this outfit and it was a good although mundane start to my life on campus.

Day 3

Top & Shoes from Malacca, Contrast Sleeve Jacket & Printed Pants from Cotton On

My ultimate go to jacket, that was a steal at RM30, goes with everything and it adds that extra punch for every look. Since I wore printed pants, I avoided all complex tops and stuck to this sleeveless button down for a more collegiate look. The color contrast was unexpected but blended well. Be bold and experiment you guys! You never know unless you try.

Unfortunately I didn't document day 4's outfit. You guys aren't missing out on much anyways, so no worries. These outfit posts will be a weekly update since one of my New Year's resolution is to blog more.

For now, I bid you all adieu.

The Arrival

The first day of college is looming upon me like a raspberry cloud that I cannot ignore. Honestly, I have been looking forward to college for the majority of my teen years, because of the possibilities of studying whatever the hell you're interested in, meeting peers with similar interests and the liberty of wearing whatever you damn well please.

Some say it's the best time to reinvent yourself and at the same time, find out who you really are. Probably the last chance you get to screw up at the attempt of self discovery. Who knows for sure where this would lead me, hopefully the States, New York City to be exact.

As long as I look as effortlessly cool as Delfine Bafort for Modern Weekly China shot by Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongiello, all will be fine. No?

Internship. Over.

What started out as an I'll-try-my-luck attempt turned into one of the best life experiences I’ve ever had in my eighteen years spent in this topsy turvy world. Good friends were made, tons of experienced locked in and lots of freebies obtained. The great thing about working at Tongue In Chic would be the golden opportunity to be totally hands on as we are a small team of 5. In the course of my internship, I got to write posts, attend events as well as edit pictures, such as:

I may not be the master of Photoshop like Sheena but at least I've gained a few tricks up my sleeves.

As much as I hated the traffic to and fro work, deciding what to eat in the same area 5 days a week and writer's block, I have to admit that I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

1) Goodies for attending the Za event & Jimmy Choo Flash fragrance launch.
2) Flash event.
3) We get to paint our nails in the office (our jobs are better than yours)!
4) Coach event.
5) Sephora palette that we get to test out.
6) Played model for the day with Dior falsies on.
7) Editorial shoots are tiring but uber fun with the right company.
8) Paramore Live courtesy of Claudia (best boss ever).
9) I have the raddest coworkers (and friends).

All in all, I couldn't ask for a better way to spend my 3 month gap before college. Being a part of the TiC crew gave me a taste of life on what's it like to be a writer for a fashion magazine/e-zine. Even though I haven't truly found my voice yet, I know what I want in life. The best is yet to come!
