Tuesday Tunes: Tessellate

Tessellate never fails to make me ponder. What does it really mean? Every time I listen to it, I am able to relate it to different situations, so I have no idea still what it truly means to me. On a side note, I am impatiently waiting for ∆ Alt-J to come on down to KL. Maybe a music festival would draw them over to South East Asia? A girl can dream.

If you love this, you should check out Mumford & Son's cover of it here. It is amazing.

Till then,
Triangles are my favourite shape.

Photo Diary: Taipei

After a few days in Okinawa, we decided to make a pit stop at Taipei for 3 days to shop, sightsee and eat. Mostly eat. The fried food was good for the first day, but after awhile, it got a tad bit nauseating. Travelling around Taipei by foot from 9am to 7pm with the MRT as an alternative transport was a great way to explore the city albeit tiring. It's always a great trip when you get to travel at your own pace.

Threw in some iPhone shots for good measure:

Till then,
Dreaming of my next getaway.

Makeup: Edqy

Credits to Tumblr

Hiya, how's everyone?

I did this makeup on Adrienne for the photoshoot we did (check out her post on it, titled: Overcast). At first I didn't quite know what look to go for since I didn't really know the exact theme we were going for but hey, edgy it was.

I drew inspiration from the above gif from Tumblr. This model had a really smokey look going on and metallic gold on the centre of her eyelids.

To start, I outlined the outer corner of the eyes with a black pencil liner taking into the tear duct area, shading it all in without doing anything to the centre of the lids.

Using the pencil liner, i lined the bottom lash line halfway through. (Btw, I did top all of the black with a black eyeshadow to increase longevity of the colour at the very end. And blend!!)

After that, comes the gold eyeshadow. Firstly, I used a gold pencil liner to fill in the centre of the lids as wells as the inner corners of the bottom lashline. Then, I applied gold eyeshadow on top of all of the gold I had applied.

Don't forget coats of mascara (add lashes if you prefer).

Done!

Oh, for a night out, you could opt to leave your lips bare or use a nude lipstick but we chose to apply a red lip stain, so it lasts throughout the night!

Tuesday Tunes: Weekend

I'll take you to the park
I'll take you to the ocean
I'll kiss you till it's dark
Go through all the motions
(Make your world go round)

Weekend reminds me of date night. You are with that special someone and you can spend all the time in the world together, just the both of you doing everything and nothing all at the same time. It's about being with someone and being content just being by yourselves, I think. Wherever you go, it would be fine because you have each other for company. I like the idea of sitting in a park or by the sea, just talking till the sun rises. That would be pretty damn magical.

Till then,
On the weekend, you'll find your way and lose it again.

Photo Diary: Okinawa

A much needed getaway from the hustle bustle that is everyday life. Okinawa, Japan, was the ideal destination for it is extremely laid back. The clear blue sky made everything seem that much more surreal and the weather was motor jacket perfect. One day I shall return in the summer so that I can chill on the beach without freezing my tushie off and swim in the crystal clear ocean.

When in Japan, one can never turn down a photo booth opportunity.

Till then,
さようなら.

Overcast

H&M hat, printed top, faux leather vest, sheer skirt, Forever 21 necklace,
Bag from Markets, Boots from Taiwan.

Currently in the midst of readjusting my sleep schedule to suit 8am classes, applying to universities and enjoying the last couple of days off. With so much going on, a balance is much needed to keep myself sane.

Anyway, this outfit is suited for days out with friends in an air-conditioned area when in Malaysia or nights out for catching gigs. Skip the vest and sub it with something that does not provoke an onslaught of sweat, preferably something of the lace variety, for a music festival (LANEWAY).

And yes, that blot on my arm is a temporary tattoo. Thanks for noticing.

Till then,
So far, it's alright.
