Style Muse: Austin Butler

Austin Butler is really blowing up these days because of his role as Sebastian Kydd on The Carrie Diaries as well as him being Vanessa Hudgens' significant other. Ladies, he's not just another hottie patottie, he reads, likes Alt-J and he has an impeccable sense of style.

Maybe it's the hair or face or built, but he sure does look smashing in everything he dons. The first look isn't a favourite but brownie points for looking put together, although I would prefer him not showing so much ankle. The next three looks are spot on. It could be the biker jackets, but then again. Boys, a foolproof look is evidently a white shirt, biker jacket and a pair of well fitted jeans. A shirt and tie combo is well received as well.

Even on his casual days out with Vanessa, he looks incredible. Notice how in the first look he paired denim on denim but of different hues of blue? Do that. Never ever match the same shade of denim together. NEVER. Notice how in the second and third look he wears white underneath dark outerwear? It really is that simple. All you need is a basic t-shirt that fits you well over a cardigan and you're good to go. Throw on a beanie and shades for good measure.

His colour scheme isn't impressive, but he looks presentable. I know layering a t-shirt, shirt, hoodie and biker jacket would never here in Malaysia, but try layering a white shirt over a denim shirt/jacket. Guys rarely pull off the whole necklace look, but he looks really good in the second look. For an everyday-off-to-college look, opt for the fourth look. Do make sure you pick a pair of nice shoes to complete the entire look.

Urbanscapes is this wekeend (FINALLY) and if you're at a loss of what to wear, take a note out of Austin's book. Muscle tees may not be easy to pull off for most guys, so try swapping that for a t-shirt. Throw on your favourite pair of sunnies, a cap and a pair of sneakers.

Personally, I love seeing a guy in a printed shirt (second look), it's equivalent to a breath of fresh air. I don't know why you guys don't sport one as often as you should. It doesn't have to be a long sleeved shirt, a short sleeved one is even better in my opinion.

For formal events, sticking to the usual white button down, skinny black tie, black blazer and slacks blend isn't always a bad thing. For something different, try out the third look. You can hardly go wrong by mixing solid colours altogether.

This look right here just needed some appreciation. I couldn't find a full outfit picture without some fans by his side, so this shall do. How does one make a t-shirt and blazer duo look good, I'm baffled but thoroughly amazed.

Style Muse: Avan Jogia

For the past few weeks, my lumpster, Tasha, has been raving about Avan Jogia non-stop because she was hooked on the TV series, Twisted. Pictures of him were sent on a daily basis, be it shots of him in the series, an interview or red carpet looks. So when my guy friends suggested posts on men's fashion, Tasha suggested Avan.

What I love about his style is his ability to mix colours, textures and prints. It is refreshing to see his looks, because they differ from the usual red carpet looks.

Take note of the way he matches different textures into an outfit, especially the third look. The colours of the third look is especially well put together. Usually guys tend to stick to solid colours, but warm tones complement each other, thus the third look. For semi formal events, you guys can opt for the first two looks.

Seriously, pay attention to the colours. For the first look, he relied mostly on solid colours with a print thrown into the mix as the cherry on top of an already good looking sundae. He skips the tie for the first and third look but makes up for it by buttoning his shirt all the way up. I really like the fact that he threw on a printed tie for the second look because it ties (ha ha) the whole look together in terms of colour and added print. A skinny tie is best for a look like that when you're under 25.

Who would have thought that green and salmon pink or light maroon (Who knows what colours those are because /flash/) would go well together. It isn't exactly 'WOW GENIUS HE LOOKS FANTASTIC', but it's all about taking risks and pulling it off with a confident smile. Layering is key too. You do not have to layer 4 shirts over one another with a blazer on top, but try it out once in awhile when it is chilly out. The second look is pretty darn good because it's of a metallic nature. When in doubt, go for an all black look but do try mixing up the textures.

Before I sign off, let's take a moment to appreciate his hair shall we? His hair is simply gorgeous and he looks so fine because let's face it, not all guys can pull off shoulder length hair.

Alright, moment's over.

Till then,
Experiment, experiment, experiment.

Style Muse: Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez has been stepping up her game recently. She has got the casual yet chic look down pat. I'm sure some of the images here you've seen before as you scroll down your dashboard but her outfits are worth a second look.

I am in love with the first three outfits. The last one not so much, but it had a bohemian vibe that complements the first three looks.

I noticed a pattern when rounding up her looks. Oversized sweaters are her thing and it's really adorable. Knee high socks, boots and an oversized sweaters are a great combination.

Look one: Perfect for dinners or work. Look two: Beach, beach, beach.
Look three: Casual day out with the girls. Look four: College or when you're out and about town.

Style Muse: Vanessa Anne Hudgens feat. Austin Butler

Every time Vanessa Hudgens appears on my dashboard, I can't help but reblog it because 99.8% of the time, she looks stunning. I love her style which is bohemian, feminine and laid back. She looks really comfortable and that's how it should be. Her outfits are well put together without looking overly planned and that's what I love about her.

My favourites, especially the first and last look. Where can I get dresses like that? The kimono cardigan paired with the sheer dress is breathtaking.

She looks so comfortable yet chic.

Unsure of what to wear to Good Vibes or Urbanscapes? Take a leaf out of their book. Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler are the epitome of what you should wear to a music festival.

Best Dressed Couple 2013 goes to them!
