Hiya, how's everyone?

I did this makeup on Adrienne for the photoshoot we did (check out her post on it, titled: Overcast). At first I didn't quite know what look to go for since I didn't really know the exact theme we were going for but hey, edgy it was.

I drew inspiration from the above gif from Tumblr. This model had a really smokey look going on and metallic gold on the centre of her eyelids.

To start, I outlined the outer corner of the eyes with a black pencil liner taking into the tear duct area, shading it all in without doing anything to the centre of the lids. 

Using the pencil liner, i lined the bottom lash line halfway through. (Btw, I did top all of the black with a black eyeshadow to increase longevity of the colour at the very end. And blend!!)

After that, comes the gold eyeshadow. Firstly, I used a gold pencil liner to fill in the centre of the lids as wells as the inner corners of the bottom lashline. Then, I applied gold eyeshadow on top of all of the gold I had applied.

Don't forget coats of mascara (add lashes if you prefer).

Done!

Oh, for a night out, you could opt to leave your lips bare or use a nude lipstick but we chose to apply a red lip stain, so it lasts throughout the night!

Makeup: Coloured Eyeliner to Your Christmas Look

Well, hello there!

Christmas is today and here's a quick tutorial that can help you out on vamping your Christmas dinner makeup.

Ladies love their red lips but if you're going to be the ones who are planning to hog the dinner spreads, I'd suggest sticking to a nude lipstick to avoid smearing or if you're just too lazy to reapply.

And with a nude lip, you can always smoke it up with your eye makeup. Here I'll be showing a step-by-step for a cool Christmas eye look: a soft vintage gold eye with green liner on the lash line! And glitter. Never forget the glitter.

(I apologise for the scary bare skin. I like to do my eye makeup first before foundation just to avoid fallout. I only have my SPF50 moisturizer on, so expect open pores and shine.)

1. Create your usual smokey eye. As I can't really find my crease, I create one. Using an angled eyeliner brush, I trace above where my lids overlap and follow the shape. I used a dark brown eyeshadow for this.

2. This step isn't necessary if you have a gold eyeshadow already. Just sweep it on all over your lids up to the line you've created. However, I did use a gold pencil liner instead to prolong the stay-on power.

 

3. Blenddddddddd. You can use a black or the dark brown shadow to darken up your outer 'V' until you get a soft smokey look.

4. Here comes the green eyeliner. From the tearduct area, gently tug it along your lower lash line. Avoid your water line and leave it bare. Until you reach the end of your eye, flick the green liner out, about half a cm.

5. You're gonna want to make your eyes pop. Using a black liquid eyeliner, make a really thin line on your lids and slightly flick it out. Your black and green eyeliner will look like they mirror each other. Then, take a white pencil liner and fill your your waterline completely. Fill it in between those two black and green eyeliner.

6. (Ignore the redness in my eyes. They get irritated easily). The fun part comes now. GLITTAHHHH!! I used NYX's Crystal Liner in Crystal Hip which is a gorgeous clear liquid eyeliner with holographic glitter. I topped the green eyeliner off with it with a few coats.

After foundation, concealer and setting powder has been applied:

You can't really see it that clearly but in real life, I promise it looks really pretty! Another alternative would be if you don't have a glitter liner, you could always use a shimmer or glitter powder using a wet brush to apply it.

Don't forget mascara and brows though! And if you have fake lashes, go for it. I dare you.

Makeup: Quick Smokey Eye...(with a twist!)

How's everyone doing? I'm alright, I guess. Been busy busy busy with final exams' preparation (although I must say, I'm nowhere near done) (because tired) (because sleep) and the weather has been so gloomy - it's rained all day and my cat's miserable and so am I.

So I thought I could put up an easy eye look for those of you who has always wanted to try a smokey eye makeup look but quickly brushed the thought away because: a) it might seem tough to do (too much work!) or b) they make your eyes look even smaller.

The technique is to blend blend blend, so there aren't any harsh lines. And the trick I'd like to point out here is to add a glittery/shimmery coloured pencil liner in the water line. It'll not only help to bring out the colour of your eyes but also to widen them, making them look bigger.

Let's start, shall we?

1.  Swipe a matte black eyeshadow all over your lid, stopping right at your crease with an eyeshadow brush. Also, line your lower lash line with the same black eyeshadow.

2. Take a fluffy eyeshadow brush and BLEND in the crease until you see no harsh lines. This may take awhile but I assure you this step is woorrrrttthhh it.

3. With a shimmery gold pencil liner, line your waterline. For you first-timers, it's going to feel ticklish but practice first. Sooner or later, you won't feel a thing. You could also use a white pencil liner or any colour that matches the eyeshadow that you'll applying on top of the pencil liner. We're nearly done...

4. The last step, promise! I applied a shimmery gold on top of the liner, gently pressing it on as so to avoid the pigment from entering the eyes. If you want it to be extra sparkly, add on some loose glitter (and I emphasize here: that are SAFE for the eyes). And feel free to smoke out the black to your liking.

And holla, we're done! Don't forget a nude lip, full brows, lots of mascara (or fake lashes, if you're feeling adventurous!) and contour in the cheekbones!

Makeup: Chloë Moretz in Carrie

Hi again!

So, two days ago me and my college mates went to see Carrie and boy, was it good.

For starters:

Both of them, in the same movie.

So perfect.

And I know, I know. If the movie you're about to watch has your favourite cast in it, you'll instantly love everything about it.

But really, Carrie was just what I needed after Insidious 2 and The Conjuring. No spoilers here, so all I'll say is that I enjoyed it. And you should watch it, too. Go. Go swoon over Ansel like I did.  *smiles sweetly and pretends a halo glows over my head*

Besides Ansel Elgort looking like a total hottie, lets move on to Chloe Moretz.

You should already know she is BEAUTIFUL. She has such a unique face shape and her hair is perfect however she - or her hairstylist - styles it.

In the movie, she didn't look like she had on anything on her skin. I mean, Carrie's mum probably never told her makeup existed. Not that she needed any, anyway.

But coming to the prom scenes, there was a part where she applied makeup and it was only a rosey nude-coloured lipstick.

Chloe Moretz's makeup has always been fresh and sort of satin-matte. It's as if she has a dewy foundation on (think light coverage) and set loosely with translucent powder, still letting the skin show but evens out the redness.

Her eyebrows are neatly groomed but doesn't look tweezed. Which, really, is how teenagers should have their eyebrows look like. Nothing done to them. The bushier, the better. Unless it really bothers you, but please don't just shave them off like how Georgia (albeit accidentally) shaved half of hers off in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.

She always has rosy cheeks in most of her red carpet looks and they're never anything harsh or really muddy. I don't think she even uses bronzer. Just a sweep of a rosy or peachy pink colour down her cheekbones.

Her eyelids - they're hooded and mostly all of us could relate to that. We apply eyeshadow, open our eyes up and see that the colour has vanished altogether. Chloe always has a few coats of mascara on her lashes and a thin line of black eyeliner.

And her perfectly shaped lips usually have something nude with a glossy swipe on them orrrrr she leaves them just like that.

It's the perfect No Makeup makeup look. For school, uni or running daily errands.

Makeup: Prom Look Ideas

Hello! How's your week going? Mine's good, a little slow but it's definitely good.

Since my college is having prom tonight, I thought I'd share some ideas for those who are planning to have their makeup done in little time but leaving for prom, looking polished. And if you don't have prom anytime soon, you can always try these out for a daytime/night out look (altered to your liking).

Jessica Alba wears gold eye makeup and a burgundy lip.

Megan Fox is just one stunning human being. She's got this look hands down with a pouty nude lip, shimmery eyes and lots of lashes. And her hair = every girl's dream prom hair.

If you're up for a bold look like Emma Watson, go for the gold. And black. Apply black eyeshadow all over the lids, up to the crease, and apply a metallic gold on your tearduct area as well as the outer corners of your eyelids.

Emilia Clarke makes her blue-grey eyeshadow look flawless. Don't forget to fill in your eyebrows.

Silver eye makeup goes with all types of dresses. To bring some depth, smoke it out a little bit.

Or if you find that you have no time at all, you could go neutral on the eyes and bright on the lips!

I stumbled on these looks all by coincidence, and all from the same celebrity! Love how Emma Stone rocks all of these colours with just a simple thick eyeliner.

Prom is supposed to be fun and it's alright if you would want to pair a bright blue eye makeup with orange lips. As long as you're happy with it and you feel confident, that's all that matters. (I spent 2 hours on my prom makeup. Note to self (and you): caked on face powder does not mean pretty.)

Quick Halloween Makeup: The Twiggy Look

 Hi there! Sorry for being M.I.A for more than a week but I was just so caught up in tests, I just did not have the time to post anything up. I should be studying for my Calculus test tomorrow but it's alright because it's the last test before finals AND I've been itching to get something up a.s.a.p.

I know Halloween is basically today (so Happy Halloween) but for those who'd be attending a Halloween weekend party and have no clue on what to go as, here's an idea.

Comes Twiggy's iconic look. She was the "It" girl of the 60s and known for her pixie look, an obvious retro cut crease and drawn-on bottom lashes.

1. Firstly, all you need is an angled eyeliner brush and black eyeshadow. You could use a black gel eyeliner, too. 
2.  Find your crease (the gap between your eyeball and brow bone) and carefully draw on a thin line all the way from your tear duct area to where your lids end, slightly winging it out.Start thin, so you know how much you should put on rather than blobbing everything on and having to wash it off.
3. To make it easier, make a basic winged eyeliner with a liquid eyeliner first to be sure where your crease shadow should end (usually where the winged liner stops).
4. It'll be nice to have some thin fake lashes on like Twiggy had on.
5. Then, draw on your bottom eyelashes with a liquid eyeliner, maybe 6-9 short, wispy lines.

Dress up and you're done!

Got home and played around with my black eyeshadow, coming up with this 1 minute Cat look. All I did was draw one a heart shape on the tip of my nose, used a liquid liner for straight line going down my cupid's bow and filled my top lip with eyeshadow. Also, don't forget your cat-shaped winged eyeliner and whiskers! (I forgot mine...)

Makeup: Grunge Eye Look

 Hola! Today's look will be about grunge makeup. When you think of grunge, you think of emo/depressed-looking sort of people. Un-slept hair and tired eyes. Well, most of the time I think of Avril Lavigne - kohl-rimmed eyes and pale lips or Lily Collins - full lashes and dark burgundy lips.

It can make you look rocker chic (think leather jackets, flannel shirts, ripped jeans) and this look is oh so easy to achieve with just one shade of eyeshadow.

• You would need a smooth canvas for the face. I like to use matte finish foundations as I have very oily skin but you can use whichever foundation you prefer as long as it's not too dewy. If it is, set with loose powder. (Here I'm using Estee Lauder Doublewear foundation in 3N1 Ivory Beige 10)

• Next, I'm prepping my eye with an eyeshadow base/primer. It's to make sure that my eyeshadow will stay put and not crease. (I'm using the NYX Eyeshadow Base in Skin Tone)

• Then, we move on to the shadow! (I threw out the box but I'm pretty sure it's the Inglot Eyeshadow #53) I apply it all over my lids taking it slightly above the crease and also lining the bottom lids using a 'C' shaped eyeshadow brush.

• Don't forget to blend, blend, blend to avoid harsh lines.

• There are two optional choices for the next step. You can either take a matte dark brown shadow using an angled eyeliner brush to line your top and bottom lids in place of an actual eyeliner (here I'm showing the dark brown shade that I have in my Sleek Natural Palette) (I use this same shade to fill in my brows)

OR

• You can use a dark brown pencil eyeliner instead. (Shown: Essence Long-Lasting Eye Pencil in Hot Chocolate)

• *sings* Mascara, lots and lots and lots ~~~~

• You can skip this step if you prefer but I can't go anywhere without a dusting of matte bronzer. (I'm using Cargo Matte Medium Bronzer) As long as it's m-a-t-t-e.

Don't forget to pull the classic duckface if you can't find your natural contour line.

• I finish off with a peachy nude lipstick to pull the look together. (Rimmel Lipstick in Nude Delight - man, I love this stuff. It's the perfect texture minus the perfume-y smell. It's too bad they no longer carry Rimmel in the nearby drugstores)

• The look is finished!!!
